fa بررسی ویژگی‌های معماری زندان شهربانی یزد و سیر تحولات کالبدی آن در دوران معاصر An Architectural Investigation of Yazd’s Shahrbani Prison and Its Morphological Evolution During the Contemporary Period بنای زندان شهربانی یزد، واقع در محدوده دارالحکومه قدیم، یکی از بناهای امنیتی-حکومتی به‌جا مانده از دوران قاجار- پهلوی اول است. این ساختمان که در بافت تاریخی شهر یزد قرار گرفته، با وجود وقفه‌های تاریخی و تغییرات گسترده، تقریباً تا پایان دهه ۷۰ ه.ش استفاده بوده است. با گذار از زندان‌های دوران قاجار به پهلوی و تأسیس زندان شهربانی، دگرگونی‌هایی در این بنا ایجاد شد. ساختار کلی این بنا از سه الگوی به‌هم‌پیوسته تشکیل شده که در ادوار مختلف تاریخی، تحولات کالبدی متعددی را تجربه است. بخشی از این تغییرات به‌منظور حذف یا افزودن عناصر دوره‌های پیشین بوده و بخشی دیگر ناشی از نیازهای عملکردی هر دوره است. این پژوهش با هدف بررسی ویژگی‌های کالبدی و روند سیر تحولات آن طی یک قرن گذشته تا عصر حاضر انجام شده است. روش تحقیق بر پایه جمع‌آوری و بازخوانی اسناد و مدارک تاریخی به همراه مطالعات میدانی استوار بوده و با رویکرد تاریخی-توصیفی-تحلیلی، به تشریح ویژگی‌های کالبدی (یا معماری) زندان شهربانی یزد می‌پردازد. همچنین این پژوهش در پی پاسخ به این پرسش است که: ویژگی‌های کالبدی و عملکردی زندان شهربانی یزد چه بوده و چه تحولاتی را از ابتدا تا کنون پشت سر گذاشته است؟ بررسی‌ها حاکی از آن است که شواهد چندانی از دوره گذار از زندان قاجار به پهلوی در دست نیست، ولی اوج رونق آن در دهه 40 شمسی قابل ردیابی است. بر مبنای تحقیقات میدانی و تحلیل اسناد نوشتاری، تحولات بنای شهربانی را می‌توان به چهار دوره عمده (۱. ۱۲۵۰ تا ۱۳۱۰ ه.ش؛ ۲. ۱۳۱۰ تا ۱۳۵۷ ه.ش؛ ۳. ۱۳۶۰ تا ۱۳۸۵ ه.ش؛ ۴. ۱۳۸۵ تا ۱۴۰۳ ه.ش) طبقه‌بندی کرد. این مقاله ساختار کالبدی بنا و سیر تحولات آن را مورد بحث قرار می‌دهد The Yazd Shahrbani Prison, located in the old Dar al-Hokumeh precinct (now Shahid Ebrahimi Street), is a surviving security-governmental structure from the Qajar and early Pahlavi eras. Situated in Yazd’s historical fabric, it remained in use until the late 1370s SH (1990s CE) despite historical interruptions and extensive modifications. Transitioning from Qajar-era prisons to the Pahlavi period, the building underwent significant changes. Its layout consists of three interconnected patterns, experiencing physical transformations across different periods. Some changes involved removing or adding elements from prior eras, while others addressed functional needs. This study examines the building’s physical characteristics and its evolution over the past century. The methodology relies on collecting and analyzing historical documents alongside field studies, using a historical-descriptive-analytical approach to detail the architectural features of the Yazd City Police Prison. It addresses the question: What are the physical and functional characteristics of the prison, and what transformations has it undergone? Evidence from the Qajar-to-Pahlavi transition is scarce, but the prison’s peak prominence is traceable to the 1340s SH (1960s CE). Based on field investigations and written documents, the transformations are categorized into four periods: (1) 1250–1310 SH (1871–1931 CE); (2) 1310–1357 SH (1931–1978 CE); (3) 1360–1385 SH (1981–2006 CE); (4) 1385–1403 SH (2006–2024 CE).
